To setup WordPress we have to register a domain and server in order publish our WordPress blog platform. Choosin a server is one of hardest and important step, so please look our article “Best WordPress Hosting companys”. We recommend to use one of those hosting companys form there. Following introduction is guaranteed to work on those servers. When you have the domain (ex. yoursite.com) and activated server (ex. site5), you need to follow those simpel steps.
1. Download WordPress software latest version from wordpress.org or older versions from bestplaceon.net/wordpress. Unzip it to desktop.
2.Find out your server name, FTP username and FTP password. They will usually sent to you by e.mail when you have signed up for server provider. If you havent get any e-mail contact hosting provider. Usually server name is your domain (ex. yoursite.com), but username and password will be genereted. Most of the times they are different from your choosen backend login informatsion. You can try to useing backend login in FTP, but i dout it will work.
3.If you know how to use FTP client nad you have one installed in your computer skip this step. If you dont know nothing about FTP client, download Filezilla form here: filezilla-project.org. It is best Free FTP client out there and it work both on MAC and PC. Install FTP client software in your computer and open it.
4.Use information mentioned in 2. step to fill out “Server:” , “Username:” , “Password:” fields in Filezilla and click to “connect”. If you inserted correct information you will be logged into your domain/server directory (right window). I use SITE5 as a host so i have to open “www” folder from directory.
5.Go to “Desktop” (left window) in Filezilla and open WordPress folder in there. Select all files in there, if all files in “WordPress” folder are active make a right mouse click inside window and choose upload. NB! Make sure that you upload all files into “www” folder.
6. Go to your hosting account backend and make an new MySQL database. How to make MySQL database, depends on your service provider. I will add SITE5, Westhost, Hostgator, Bluehost and Justhost “How Do’s” soon.
7. Open Browser and go your site (ex. http://www.yoursite.com). If you have run everything correct so far then you will see WordPress installation screen. Fill out the fields.Database name and database username you will find from Control pane or in PhpMyAdmin.Host is always “localhost” and table prefix should stay “wp_”.
