Network Marketing Products Do Not Sell Themselves

One of the things that a new person involved with a network marketing, MLM, or multi-level marketing company may be told is that the product is so good that it sells itself. The products are not that good. They do not sell themselves. If they did, the company would not need you or any distributors. They would simply put it in the retail outlets, and it would fly off the shelves.

It is difficult at best to convince someone about how good your product is. Even when you are able to get people to try the product for free, they often do not become sold on the product you are pushing. People have different results from the same item. It may help some and not others. Unless they happen to see benefits from it and they are able to receive their own testimonial of its goodness, it is not easy to sell the product without the opportunity.

Because network marketing companies are work at home opportunities and home based businesses which pay their distributors the advertising budget funds, the products are often priced higher when compared with similar products found in stores. Distributors are willing to pay the extra price because they should be able to make their money back and then some when their business gets established. When they begin to earn money from their business, the price of the product is not a concern to distributors.

At the beginning before any money is earned, it can be difficult to pay the high cost of the products required to stay active and be qualified to receive commissions. Distributors buy the product before they have anyone buying it under them. It’s good for the company but may not be good for the distributor if he/she is not able to begin earning quickly. In a few companies, distributors may receive some kick back on their own purchases, but most companies simply pay on the purchase volumes from the people under their distributors.

It is important for the distributors in any network marketing company to believe in the products they are selling, whether they are nutritional supplements or long distance service. If they don’t like the products, they cannot be effective in the business. They have to be sold on the products themselves, and they should believe that they are good. It is also important for a person to not get in over their heads. If they cannot afford a few months of expenditures to the company, they should consider carefully whether or not to join. Everyone is excited at first, but it could be a difficult business if success comes slowly.
